Troy Wayrynen received the assignment to cover the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing China. The images featured in this

Troy Wayrynen is a photographer
with nearly two decades of experience covering a variety of subjects
including sports, news and features. In 2005, he was awarded first
place for sports feature photography in the annual SPJ contest. Some
of his assignment work has taken him to Albania to cover relief
efforts for refugees, Russia for a story looking back at the historic
Chkalov flight, as well to Peru for a story about women
helping women in the coffee industry. In 2006 Troy was on assignment in
Torino, Italy covering the Winter Olympic games
where several of his photographs were published in Newsweek magazine.
