"China, so much in the news as it asserts its position in the modern world, still maintains a deep sense of continuity that originates from centuries of cultural heritage. This character is especially strong in the classical gardens and in the work of skilled craftsmen and artists. The images shown here are from the Shanghai region of Suzhou, Hangzhou and Yellow Mountain. As a photographer what I am most interested in revealing is the aesthetic continuum that permeates the atmosphere of these places."
