Submission Requirements:
- Photos must have been taken in any public accessible area within the boundaries of Washington County e.g., Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve, Cooper Mountain Nature Park, etc.
- Any nature scene whether wildlife, plants, or scenic landscape are eligible.
- A photographer may submit up to 5 digital images.
- Photographs will be accepted only from the original photographer who must be the sole author and the owner of the copyright for photos submitted.
- Files should be saved as a JPG with maximum quality.
- Limited image modifications are allowed: Watermarks, Signatures, or Copyright Notices must be removed prior to submission.
- Elements or objects not in original scene should not be added.
Submission File Specifications:
- File Submission size should be no larger than 1200 x 800 pixels & no smaller than 900 x 600 pixels.
- Files should be saved as a JPG with maximum quality and Color Space: Adobe1998, sRGB or untagged color space.
- All winning entries will need to be resubmitted in a 300 dpi JPEG format no smaller than 8x10 inches (1500 x 2100 pixels).
- If submission requirements are not followed, the application and images may not be judged.
Upload Instructions:
- Files must be named as followed:
(lastName_firstName_categoryName_01.jpg). (CategoryName = Adult or Youth) If submitting more than one image per category, number sequentially. Example _01.jpg, _02.jpg
- Files must be no larger than 2GB
- Images must be JPG files only
- Type Tualatin Refuge in the upload Subject field below
- Include your name and phone number in the upload Message field below
Images that do not follow the digital submission guidelines will be disqualified.
Terms & Conditions on use of images
- Photographers retain ownership of all copyrights. However, by submitting an image for entry in this contest, you automatically give Friends of Tualatin National Wildlife Refuge and Washington County Oregon Visitors Association a non-exclusive, non-transferable, irrevocable license without charge to reproduce and display the image in any electronic, optical, physical, or other medium; to modify its size and resolution; and to use your name as the photographer, without notification or compensation.
- Any one photographer may have more than one winning entry. Twelve winning entries for the refuge contest will be selected in the Adult category and three winning entries for the Youth category. All winning entries announced at the Friend’s Annual Songbird Festival on May 15, 2010, after which all winning images will be published on the Friends web site, www.friendsofthetualatinrefuge.org, displayed at the Refuge Wildlife Center gallery as well as displayed at Pro Photo Supply in-store gallery and online gallery at www.ProPhotoSupply.com.
