One lucky entry will grace the cover of the Summer OHS Magazine, and winners in each category will be featured inside. This year‚s photo contest is sponsored by Pro Photo Supply and Canon USA, and the Grand Prize winner will receive a Canon Rebel XSi Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm lens from Pro Photo Supply. The best pictures of dogs, cats and other animals get a $100 gift card to Pro Photo Supply, with the winners of the remaining categories receiving a $50 gift card.

Elders in Action invites interested photographers to submit entries to our premier photo contest celebrating the vitality, courage, wit and beauty of time-honored people. Through your creativity, help us forge a different perspective on aging. Capture the essence of exquisite elders in uniquely selected settings. Be inspirational!

This year’s photo contest encouraged you to take the time to really look at the artistry in our built environment. Photographers of all sorts were invited to submit their images of architectural details they found imaginative, surprising, or eloquent that were in and on historic homes or buildings in the Portland area. Capturing the “angels in the architecture” you might miss if you were rushing too fast.

OHS received over 2,200 photos for the 2008 Fuzzy, Furry & Feathed Friends Photo Contest -- the largest number in the event's 17-year history. The 2008 Grand Prize went to Chris Pokorny for his photograph of Zoey. The picture of Zoey basking in the sun at Canon Beach is a wonderful image of big, wet, blissful dog.
